今日は和歌山市のclub GATEで行われたライブに『PARADOX』にDrとして参加してきました！2/12に和歌山市で行われたコンテストに参加した数バンドでのライブなのです。あの時に見た顔が多数！今回の曲は1. 青い海と空と 2. 7 day 3. Happy Smile 4. Children’s Dream 5. Sweet
Dream 6. Su Na Oの６曲です。ライブハウスでの演奏は先週に続いてこれで２度目。ライブハウスって、結構ええんちゃう～？お客も満員御礼でした。僕は少しミスはあったね。やっぱり調子のええ時と悪い時の波はあるね。その差がないようにするのがプロなんやろね。ええ経験しました。僕はもっと経験を積む必要があるね。

今日は太地町の公民館で行われた『Route 42』のラストライブにパーカッションとして参加してきました。Route 42は僕が尊敬するグループで、Vo&G
: JeremyとPiano&Vo : Nickという２人組のシンプルな組み合わせで素晴らしい演奏をするのです。僕はそれに魅了されてね、今では大ファンなんやけどJeremyがこの８月にアメリカへ帰ってしまうので最後のライブなのです。さて、今回の曲は1. Wonderwall 2. In My Place 3. Completely Accidentally 4.Yellow 5.Volcano 6. Always Beautiful 7. Make You Smile

The Morning 15.さくらです！ Jeremyのために集まったお客は約２００人。すごいよ。Jeremyがどれだけ地域に愛されとったかがわかるライブやったよ。あの才能溢れる人と演奏できたことを僕は光栄に思うよ。Jeremy、今まで本当ありがとう！僕はJeremyに負けないように自分の音楽を磨くよ！

今日は伊勢市にある伊勢クエスチョンというライブハウスで『Lunched Box』で演奏。昨日のシーサイドと連チャンです(^_^;)僕はライブはやったりしとるけど、今回のような本当のライブハウスでライブしたことがないんやよね。今回が初体験初経験。ライブハウスの空気に緊張しまくり…(-_-;)
そんな今回のセットリストは1.You
Oughta Know 2.Somebody To Love 3.⑤(オリジナル) 4.It's Not Impossible(オリジナル)
5.You Lean 6.ホタル 7.Build Me Up Buttercupの全７曲。そのウチ２曲がオリジナルです！ランチのライブでこんなに曲をやったのは初めてなんちゃうかな？それと言うのも、バンドが一つキャンセルになったから時間が空いてきて、持ち時間が25分から40分に増えたから(^_^;)急遽１曲追加して対応。masahiroくんとtaikoがパーカッションやったり、曲中にbkがお客から手拍子もらったり、ハイハットのスタンドが下がってしまって演奏に支障をきたしたり、エレアコのチューニングが急にレロレロになってしまったり…とハプニングと笑いある中での演奏となりました。そんなことがいっぱいあったんで、今までのランチのライブの中で一番楽しかったライブになりました(^o^)/呼んでくれた３７５のみなさん、ありがとうございました！メンバーみんな、本当に楽しかったね！また楽しくライブやりましょう！(^o^)/

今日は『今日は熊野市井内浦農村公園で開催されるシーサイドフェスタに『板屋７８丁目』で参加しました。シーサイドはこの辺では大きなライブイベントで、段々定着しつつあるね。さて、僕の担当はパーカッションです。アコースティックなサウンドでの演奏やからね(^_^)今回のセットリストは1.Diana 2.I Saw Her Standing There 3.Nowhere Man 4.In My Life 5.Stand By Meの全５曲。７８は３月にデビューライブをしてこのライブで２度目のライブ。初心者バンドにとっては大舞台での演奏やったね。お客さんの入りも上々で、最後のStand
By Meではお客さんから手拍子を頂くことができました！メンバーも大舞台を楽しんだようで実に良かったです(^_^)７８メンバー、今度はバンドスタイルでもデビューせなね！

Today was Ko-chan's first show as a part of the Black Cadillac, a cover band of a band called Cadillac. As the
name suggests, they're about Oldies Rock and Roll. Ko-chan met the leader of the band while he was still playing for
The Coors.
Considering it was their first show, it went pretty well. Not that I know too much about drumming, but I thought
Ko-chan's drumming was pretty good. He got more than a few compliments, so I think he's pretty satisfied.
今日は新宮市にあるショットバー、LotusでBlack Cadillacというバンドのデビューライブでした。このバンドは僕が以前在籍したThe Coorsでライブした時に知り合ったトシヤさんと組んだ３ピースバンドです。Black Cadillacは昔あったCadillacというバンドのコピーバンド。やから演奏曲も1.Come On Boys 2.キャロライン 3.Hey Billy 4.Peggy Sue 5.Crusin' Night 6.Radio Station 7.Don't Let Me Down（オリジナル）の全７曲のうち５曲がCadillacの曲です。
ライブはわりと好評でした。PAをしてくれたタダシさんにドラムのプレイをホメてもらいました。ありがとうございます！こうやっていろんなバンドをやって、演奏する者としてレベルアップするようにこれからも頑張ろうと思います！

This was a show featuring Ko-chan's
other band, Itaya 78 Choume. They are a band whose members are public
employees of Kiwa Town. This was their first performance (*ever*), but you wouldn't know it 'cause they did
a great job. The event was Kiwa Town's first annual Culture Festival. As you can see from their set list below,
all of their songs were American oldies (I guess it's pushing it to call John Lennon's Imagine an oldie!).
Anyway, while I was a little worried about the crowd's response (the audience was mostly made up of the elderly), the
songs were well received. Overall, I think it was a great debut!
今日は『板屋７８丁目』のデビューライブでした。場所は紀和町コミュニティセンターで、町民文化祭の出し物の一環としての出場です。『板屋７８丁目』は僕が職場で組んだバンドです。なかなかフルメンバーでライブすることがなく１年が経ったんやけど、今回ようやくデビューすることができました。
今回の演奏曲は１．Diana(Vo:しゅう) 2. Louisiana
Mama(Vo:K) 3. Imagine(Vo:しゅう) 4.Stand By Me (Vo:しゅう)の以上４曲でした！２曲めLouisiana
Mamaは僕が以前The Coorsでも歌ってたし、今でもオノケリガンでもよくやります。僕にとっては馴染みの曲ですわ。４曲めのStand
By MeはBEGINアレンジで演奏しました。このアレンジは素晴らしいと思います。７８で今後もこの曲をこのアレンジでやってくべきやね！
全体的にはよく演奏できたと思います！僕は「はい、手拍子ぃ～！」って言うトコを「はい、拍手ぅ～！」って言うたるというイタイ間違いをしたけどね。なかなか上出来なライブでした！

At one of our last shows last year, Ko-chan was asked
to fill in as a drummer for PARADOX, a local band. They were preparing for a band contest to be held in Wakayama City.
Well, the contest was on 2/12, and we all left Shingu at 5am that morning to get to the contest. I was really nervous
for Ko-chan, but he was fine. Right now he's glowing because a pro guitarist complimented his drumming. The band
itself didn't win any prizes (the winners are decided by audience voting, so it's a little tough for out of towners to win),
but I think it was a great experience for Ko-chan to play with skilled musicians.
今日は僕はPARADOXの臨時ドラマーとしてバンドコンテストに出場しました！僕はバンドコンテストってのに出場するのは初めてでございます(^_^;)今回のエントリー曲はSweet Dream。この日のために練習してきたワケです。
で、コンテスト結果は入賞は逃したけど、でも僕には収穫がありました！プロのギタリストに、「ドラム、すごく良かったよ！」と評価してもらいました！普通にホメてもらうのも嬉しいけど、まさかプロにホメてもらうとは思ってなかったです(>_<)この評価は僕にすごく自信に繋がりました！心に留めて、もっとドラムうまくなりたいと思いました!

This was our second show at the Life-Long Learning Center
in Udono Village. We participated as Lunched Box, this time with Masahiro's brother Nori joining us on guitar.
We were only planning to do 4 songs, but when Ko-chan and I saw the stage for the first time the day before the show, we decided
to add a quiet song to match the beautifully decorated stage. Our performance wasn't perfect (after all, except for
one song, it was the first time that all five of us played together!) Most of the other groups that played were the
same as the first event at this venue, so it was nice to see them again.
今日は鵜殿村にある生涯学習センター『まなびの郷』でウィンターライブに『Lunched Box』で参加しました。今回ランチはギターに新たにノリーを加えて５人編成でのライブとなりました。さて、今回のセットリストはやや邦楽中心で、1. You Learn 2. Sojouner ～異邦人 3. Somebody To Love 4. 放浪カモメはどこまでも
5. ハリケーンの５曲でした。全曲バーニーがVocalです。１曲めは当初予定になかったんやけど、クリスマスイベントやのにクリスマスの雰囲気に合う曲がないってことで急遽弾き語りで演奏し、２曲めからバンドで演奏というカタチになりました。一緒にステージに立つ他のバンドのメンバーも皆いい人ばかりで本当に楽しいライブとなりました！ランチはメンバーみんなが遠いため練習回数も少なくなりがちで無論今回も練習不足(^_^;)そんな中でもメンバーはよくやってくれました。メンバーみんな、お疲れさま！またライブしようね！(^o^)/

This show was at Hotel Kayuu in Taiji. It was a
Christmas Dinner show, and we (Onokerrigan) had been invited to be guest performers by a friend of ours who was doing a full
set. We only did two songs, and choosing which songs to do was quite a challenge. We didn't know what kind of audience
to expect, and what they would want to hear. The audience turned out to be made up of mostly families, including a lot
of people from older generations. In the end we chose two songs that, although they wouldn't be able to sing along,
we thought they would enjoy listening to. It was a new kind of venue for us, but still a lot of fun!
太地町にあるホテル『花遊』でのディナーショーでのライブでした。ディナーショーということもあって客層が全く予想できず、どんななんねやろ～？と少々不安に。いざフタを開けて見ると、仕事を退職したような人やら年配の方、そして高齢の方と客層の年齢層が高いことに驚き(^_^;)曲はちゃんと聴いてくれるんやろか？何の曲やったらええんやろか？という不安がよぎりました(^_^;)今回のセットリストは1.It's Not Impossible(Vo:B) 2.You Learn(Vo:B)の以上２曲でした。友情出演ということやったのでこの曲数です(^_^)いざ演奏を始めると演奏をちゃんと聴いてくれて不安は吹き飛びました。このライブでは初めて年齢層が高いということで初挑戦的な面もあったかと思います。それでも満足のいく演奏ができたので非常に楽しかったです！(^_^)

This show was at an outdoor Christmas event in Downtown(?)
Shingu. We played as Onokerrigan. It was really cold, but we survived! It was an all-acoustic show, and all the acts
featured some amazing guitar playing. The groups that played before and after us were both so good, that it was a little
nerve-wrecking to be sandwiched in between them. It was especially a challenge for me, since it was the first time I
played guitar by myself (without a band or without Ko-chan also on guitar). I didn't play perfectly, of course, but
it wasn't that bad...at least not bad enough to keep me awake at night. This was the first time Ko-chan and I both sang
a Japanese song, but most of the songs were in English as usual. We threw in a couple of crowd-pleasers, since we knew
we'd be playing in a shopping district.
この日のライブは『オノケリガン-O』のライブでした！この日の場所は新宮市にて各商店街共同のクリスマスイベントの野外ライブということで
寒さを懸念(^_^;)なんせ寒いと演奏に支障きたすからね。予定時間間近となり会場に赴くと寒さは案の定、なかなかの寒さ。ギターを弾く手はかじかんでつらかったです(^_^;)今回のセットリストは1.Christmas Medley(Vo:B) 2.Top Of The World(Vo:B)3.Last Smile(Vo.B) 4.追憶のマーメイド(Vo:K) 5.It's Not Impossible(Vo:B)6.Louisiana Mama(Vo:K&B) 7.Brown Eyed Girl(Vo:B)という具合でした！今回もオリジナルを演奏しました。これからもこの曲をやってきたいと思います。自分の音楽ってのを表現してきたいしね(^_^)そうそう、この日のライブではバーニーが初めて一人でギターを弾いて歌うということに挑戦しました！彼女にとってはある意味デビューライブやったと思います(^o^)寒い中やったけど、なかなか充実したライブでした(^_^)

This was our first show as Onokerrigan-O since this summer. The event
was at Makaroni, and was organized by our friends Route 42. It wasn't the best we could have
done (we had to look at the chords/lyrics for most of the songs), but we had a great time anyway. It's always nice to
play for a crowd that can get into the music, regardless of differences in taste. We tried a couple of new things this
time around. The most important was that we did an original song, written by Ko-chan (I was in charge of the lyrics).
We also tried a couple of medleys, and that was pretty fun (although a part of me felt like I was doing Karaoke...).
All in all, it was one of our more enjoyable shows, at least for me anyway.

Me(Vo:B)の９曲を演奏しました！
このライブではいろいろとチャレンジしたことがありました。１つはメドレー、もう一つはオリジナル曲。メドレーは２曲めと最後９曲めとで２曲やりました。ライブでしたい曲が増えてきたのでつなげてしまったのです。これはbkのアイディアです(^_^)ほほぅ～なるほど、そういうやりかたもあるワケね！と勉強になりました！
７曲めのオリジナルは僕が作りました(^_^)歌詞はbkが書いてくれました！やっぱし自分の曲って評判が気になるね(^_^;)やった結果、評判はなかなか良かったので嬉しかったです(^_^)また挑戦せなね！
全体を見て、僕は今回ミスの多いライブでしたが、チャレンジもあったのですごく有意義で刺激的なライブでした(^o^)/

This was another Coors show. The
event was supposed to take place outdoors, on a river bank under a big bridge, but it was rained out. So they decided
to do a mini-version of the show at a local bar. Ko-chan played bass again. As usual, the band did a good job
of getting people bobbing their heads and clapping (there was less dancing going on because of a space issue...)
この日は『The Coors』のベースとして僕はライブしました。お助けマン参上です。今回は野外にステージを作って演奏する予定でした。でも当日雨が降ったため、やむなく中止となりました。寒かったしね。でもせっかく練習したからってことでちょいとしたバーを借りてライブをすることになりました。

Mama』と『Runaway』を歌いました。この２曲はThe Coorsでやってる曲なんやけど、気に入ったので『オノケリガン-O』としても演奏してます。ええ曲はええね～『The Coors』は素晴らしいバンドです。不思議な力があって聴いとる人は楽しくなるようで盛り上がります。見てない人は一度見てもらいたいです(^_^)

Rock and Roll Battle in Kumano. We (Lunched Box,
Uncivil Servants, Onokerrigan-O), didn't perform at this event, but
Ko-chan did as the bassist for the Coors. It was a fun event where most of the
bands played Oldies. Of course the bands dressed the part, but so did many of the audience members. Even little
boys had their hair done up in pompadours!

Coors』がライブやってたGene Pitneyの曲なんやよね。『The Coors』のVoがノドを悪くして高いキーが出しにくくなったので僕が代わりに歌ったのが最初で、今ではVoのノドを休ませるために歌ってます！でも僕、この曲が好きでねぇ、今では弾き語りで歌うほどです(^o^)♪このライブでは東京や大阪からもバンドが来とって、みんな素晴らしいパフォーマンスをしてました！いや～、ええ刺激になったよ(^o^)

This was our second show as the Lunched Box. This time, we were also
joined by our fourth member, Taikou, on guitar. The event itself was organized by high school students; I was really
impressed by their maturity. There also was one all-girl band (all high school students). Having started music
really late myself, I was almost envious of these girls' youth. Our set list included three songs by the Japanese band
Spitz, one of which was the reason I wanted to be in a band. It was an eventful show (typhoons, road closures, broken
guitar strings...), but fun nevertheless.

When we were asked to perform at this event (the Taniouji Summer Festival), I was still recovering from the humilitation
I experienced at our last show. Eventually, though, I realized that the only way to make the memory of the last show
fade was to make a new one. So, Ko-chan and I gave it a shot, with a set list that included most of the songs from the
show before (we added The Beatles' "Ticket to Ride." This was the first time we called ourselves Onokerrigan-O, the
name we use when it's just the two of us on acoustic guitars. So was I able to erase the memory of the show before?
Not really, but I wasn't quite as embarassing as before...

Event Commemorating the Registration of the Ancient Road of Kumano as a World Heritage
Site (phew!) We were supposed to perform as Itaya 78 Choume with S-san, but because he got sick, it was just Ko-chan and me. And that's how Onokerrigan-O was born
(although we hadn't come up with that oh-so-original name yet). Our set list included a few Beatles' songs ("Paperback
Writer, "We can Work it Out," "One after 909"), as usual, but a lot of other pop/rock songs. I did Guns N Roses' "Sweet
Child O' Mine," the Sheryl Crow version, (and forgot the chords, sang out of tune...all in all, made a total fool of
myself), Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots were Made for Walking" and Lisa Loeb's "Stay" (usually a song I can do in my sleep,
but of course I messed it up). Ko-chan did Oasis' "Songbird," and Gene Pitney's "Louisiana Mama." It was a show made
memorable by pouring rain and my really really bad tambourine playing.

The Kumano Seaside Festival. We performed as Itaya 78 Choume (Ko-chan's other band) because two of us (Ko-chan and S-san) were members of
that group. We did all Beatles' covers, and one Oasis song ("Songbird"). There was some equipment malfunction
and my guitar didn't get picked up toward the end of our set, so I just played the tambourine on our last song.

This was the second time Ko-chan and I performed at Makaroni (actually, Ko-chan had performed there
before as a pinch-hitter for The Coors), but it was our debut as The Uncivil Servants. Because the band only has one real musician (Ko-chan), and the rest of us are just
beginning to fiddle around with music, we could only manage to do three songs. We did Vanessa Carlton's version of the
Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" (me on vocals), Vanessa Paradis' "Sunday Monday" (H on vocals, me on bass!), and an acoustic
version of the Monkees' "Daydream Believer." After we did those three songs, Ko-chan and I did a few songs with just
an acoustic guitar, so technically, THIS was the birth of Onokerrigan-O. After us, our friends Route
42 performed (Ko-chan played drums for them). It was fun to perform,
but it was even more fun to listen to some really terrific musicians.

The Lunched Box made its debut at Makaroni, a local bar, as part of a fundraising event for JETs planning a Habitat for
Humanity trip. Our set list included Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know" (hardly a charitable song, but has a great
bassline), Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love," The Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There" (featuring Ko-chan as the vocalist
'cause I really didn't feel like singing about a seventeen year old), and Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" (I had no problems
singing this one--and I generally don't bother changing lyrics of songs originally sung by men). It was my guitar debut,
and I messed up a lot, but it still was a lot of fun.
